Have you constructed the Duck House yet? Prized animal barns give exceptionally good Experience – more on that later. And Experience is more rare than coins, at least at the higher levels.
Here’s a tip: Click on your Inventory, then type “Duck” in the search box. Right now, you want to fill the Duck House as soon as possible, so place every Prized Duck you own inside, and start raising more Ducks!

It turns out Date Trees require just 2 Water, not 5 as one website used to state. Hence in a Grove, each tree requires just 1 Water. Selling Dates directly – without even crafting – yields a humongous $2568 / Water, over four times higher than the next best fruit, Plums. They also give a total of 39 Exp / Water, which is higher than any other tree or land crop, and higher than nearly all recipes other than animal products or river crops.
This does answer the question of which is more rare out of coins or Exp: Exp is rarer. Specifically, you could max out your expansions not too long after unlocking Date Trees at level 59, and well before the level cap of 80.
This exhorbitant coin profit does make the game more boring. However collecting Exp is still a challenge, so keep feeding those Prized animal barns, etc. I’m also now focusing on other challenges such as achieving full Mastery for crops and animals.

The best Lemonade and Limeade recipes in Farmville 2 have been posted!
Of the standard recipes and ingredients, Peach Lemonade is the best from level 11, then Cherry Limeade is the best from level 31. Raspberry Limeade gives a higher rate still, but with significant penalties. Packet crops give good rates, and also keep an eye on the limited edition recipes.
I’ve just spent an entire week improving the calculations. Also the recipe “Swiss Cheese Loaf” has been added. It turns out this is the best use for Swiss Cheese if you make more than around $282 profit / Water normally. Else you’re better off making Lugano Quiche.
